Joshua Barnes is a Lions leader, community volunteer, and metrology professional from Holgate, Ohio.
He currently serves as First Vice District Governor of Lions District 13 OH1. His district work also includes the Global Membership Team, Global Extension Team, and Marketing & Communications, giving him the opportunity to work with Lions clubs on membership development, club growth, outreach, communications, and community engagement.
Barnes is also President of the Holgate Lions Club.
His approach to Lions begins with service. He believes people are more likely to become involved when they are given an opportunity to make a meaningful difference, build relationships, and see firsthand what Lions accomplish in their communities.
His district work has included membership-support efforts, club outreach, leadership development, public awareness, digital communications, event promotion, and efforts to strengthen and rebuild Lions clubs.
Barnes has also helped promote District OH1 service initiatives such as the OH1 STEPS Walk for Pediatric Cancer and uses video, social media, websites, and traditional community outreach to share the work of Lions with a broader audience.
Outside Lions, Barnes works in metrology, where precision, problem-solving, measurement, and attention to detail are central to his work. He brings that same practical approach to his volunteer and leadership responsibilities.
